1700s-1800s Find Today/Rev War Era Home/ID Please

Went back to the same homestead site that has produced 1700s and 1800s coins and relics. Only had about an hour, but found this interesting item. Appears button like, about the size of a quarter, very concave on the front side and the back has two hooks like a buckle. Appears to be 1700s or 1800s. Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't know for sure, but it looks like a cape or robe button with the two hooks.
Saw some in a museum in DC years ago.

Nice find....But I am pretty sure its a rosette....looks like the cross piece broke off and the hook parts are whats left.....
A cloak/ robe button wouldnt have hooks on the reverse.They were usually a pin type button for the cloaks orfrog and toggle .

It looks like a rosette. That is an ornamental piece which attaches to the horse tack on either side of the horses head.
