Today after work i drove out to one of the new fields looking if it's harvested. Was not but the field next to wich i have permission also. I had an hour, so i gave it a try. While detecting a couple with dogs came by on the dirt road at the field. They stopped and the man asked me if i was successful. I showed him my finds and explained what i do with the finds, the usual talk we all know.... It turned out that he is a farmer and his fields were on the other side of the dirt road. He said i could detect there too if i want to. Just measured these fields, adds at least 170 acre to the collection... :headbang: While chatting about shards an other signs of activity in his fields he mentioned that some years ago a well broke in after heavy rain and left a pit. I was longer interested in that area because there are some cropmarks in the field. Perfect!

He was about to leave and i asked him for his name and where he lives to show him what is found in that field and he just waved and said "Keep whatever You find and have a nice day!"

So here are the finds from the 30 minutes before, some coins, buckle and a nice Emperor Wilhelm of Prussia medal.

Awesome! You will never be void of a place to search.

Nice finds and very nice of that guy to give you permission to hunt without even wanting to know what you find.

You're going to have your work cut out for you! Good Luck!

This is how good things happen to those that are good. I got some land from a Farmer walking his dog:thumbsup: Found a gold coin in it as well!

You just described a reoccurring dream I have. LOL. Awesome! What a great thing to happen to have someone walk up and say please feel free to search my land. Very nice finds. :)

Nice Medal ! :icon_thumleft: ... got lucky with the farmer .. here are not as sympathetic .

Thanks H! Still don't knowwhat medal that is. It is a 20th anniversary medal. What anniversary is not readable... Prussia had hundreds of medals! :dontknow: And not all farmers are like the one mentioned. Most have bad experience with night hawks. I met another yesterday in the field who did not like MDs and after a little smalltalk, telling him what we do, how we dig, that we don't walk in fresh seed, showing finds he changed his mind and granted permission after he chased out others from his property...it's all about how to handle them.

Hi Cru! :hello: Yesterday they pressed straw, i hope it is plowed today and will give some nice finds tomorrow! Otherwise we have some other options as well now! I like harvest time! :laughing7:

Man you have good Karma about you Lu. Any idea on age of coins? I was gonna ask about the medal but seems you have question about it too. No driving bands or did the night hawks clean it for you? Way to go Lu!!!

Nice, good luck. Will be looking for more posts and pix soon.

Thanks Tim! Coins are prussian too. 1800s. Exept the silver looking one. It's a 50 Pfennig piece from the early 1920s made from Aluminum when germany was short on resources after WWI. I did not show brass and rubbish in this post. These fields are not close to the village so very litte stuff like driving bands and so. This area was occupied by american troops around feb.22/23.45 . The villages had heavy artillery fire on them, but not the fields. I got many cal. .50 and 20mm casings from low level attacks...
