wow this weekend was tough on finds. You may look at my picture and not think so. But that is for 17 hours of hunt time!
Friday night after work I hit a field I hunted last week for 3 hours. I got a wheat, 1908 V nickel and 1959 rosie.
Saturday I hunted for 8 hours in some different fields, I got wheats, crotal bell, 1901 indian, sterling ring, 1959 rosie, and old lipstick tube.
Sunday (today) I hunted a different field for 6 hours and managed 2 wheats, 2 indians, 1890 and 1879, (takes me to 112 indians for the season!) and the find of the whole weekend....a 1868 shield nickel! It is my first one this year. I was absolutely thrilled to get it, to me it was worth the whole 17 hours.
So in 17 hours I got 42 cents total, and a real nice sunburn on the back of my neck.
We have had unseasonably WARM weather for October in Ohio. been in the 80's all weekend.
