As the post title says I put in 17 hours of hunt time this weekend, saturday morning the wife and I were in the field at sunrise looking for a new site, took us quite some time, but we located it. I got one crusty indian and nothing else, all junk, she did not get any keepers either. We tried hard till 11am, but it wasn't meant to be. I took her home to get ready for work and went to meet a buddy of mine, we hunted from noon till 6:30pm. We simply could not find a good spot anywhere. I managed 2 mercs and a couple wheats, and a VERY toasted indian.
Sunday, I met up with Jim again at 9am, and off we went to a house I had permission for, Jim got one lone rosie, and I got one wheat, this yard was bare....we tried a couple more spots and just nothing was giving up the goods. I snagged my only decent indian at a spot I knew an old church used to be and it was the only coin from that site in 2 hours. We hit the last house and luckily I got a merc and a rosie to save the bad day we were having. We ended our hunt at 3:30pm
My wife gets home at 4pm and wanted to hunt, so off to a different field and it wasn't any better than saturdays field....I managed to get two more crotal bells and nothing else for either of us, we quit at 7pm......so 17 hours of hunt time and it aint much to show for all the spots we tried. 95% was private property, just not good spots....lol
Any idea on the "US Lock" ??? age or info?

Nice finds! I found the same lock last year. I ended up putting it on the whats-it forum and many other ppl have found the same lock  It dates to the early 20's into the 30's and could be purchased at any local general store. U.S. stood for the company not the country.

Heck I'd take those finds for 17 hours of hunting !! I love that 1940 Merc, incredible condition.

I'd still say it was better than not finding anything. Congratulations anyways!

i'd say that's a pretty good weekend 16 good finds with an average of almost one good find every hour. better than i usually do because i never usually get out for more than a handful of hours a month.

those are some super nice finds. wow 17 hours of hunting.... just like your name, you almost went forever

I would say it wasn't bad if I found what you did I would be a happy Camper, Congrats, them Merc come hard for me.

I would take those finds anytime. Thanks for posting. HH

Really nice stuff.:icon_thumleft:

Well, you have enough Mercs and buttons to make me happy for 17 hours worth. For me, its quality and not quantity.... But ultimately all I can say is.....Well done!!! :icon_thumleft:

Awesome finds!!
Keep it up!
