Stamp looks like B16k maybe 10k... maybe 18k...

Any guesses at the stone or age are welcome. 16k seems odd to me and googling shows that 16k is really only currently used by dentists and with gold plating so maybe the fact that it's 16k indicates it's at least a certain age? Thanks for any help.

Found in a park in Portland, OR. I've been having lots of good luck lately this is my second gold ring in less than a week out of this park

You might have an 18K on your hands

Looks like a 10 to me and that’s nice gold! Good find!

yeah i think the top "tail" to the 6 is actually a 3-D effect of it being pressed into the ring. I'll still take it! :D especially in nice shape like this :D

Somebody get this man a toothpick!

Could be a sapphire. Certain types of sapphires would make the gem more valuable than the gold. Look for inclusions in the gem and the the cuts. These are not definitive of course but can help rule out glass at least. Using a gem loupe or 10x magnifying glass look for inclusions and the edges. Inclusions are good and round bubbles are usually bad. Rounded edge on the cuts usually mean glass. Sharp edges usually mean a gem. If it is a sapphire a sapphire/ruby will not scratch it, but a diamond will. It looks like a brilliant cut so the ring was not made prior 1920. Oh yeah. Great find!!!

Certainly easy enough to get both the metal ,and the stone tested . I'd like to think that you have 18k and a sapphire , but if it's 10k and something less than sapphire - you still scored !

Beautiful gold ring, congratulations! :occasion14:

Nice golden day you had.:occasion18:

Congratulations on a beautiful gold ring. Sub 8-)

The test kits are really inexpensive, I have one for testing gold & silver. It does no damage to the ring to do the rub and acid test. At the moment 10k= $532.04/oz. 18k= $957.68/oz. Big difference, a $12. Test kit is worth having at home.
Great find either way!

Gold always makes a great outing. Congratulations and may there be some more at that park for you.
