Thanks, Smithbrown. This came out in the paper yesterday. What's sad is they have no money to conserve, so they are photographing most of the artifacts and leaving them in the sea. At least they are documenting and sharing a wonderful part of Trinidad and Tobago's history.
 

I really love and appreciate a story like this. As much as I like to find objects and place them in my private collection (note that I have not found anything of significance), the thrill comes from seeing and undisturbed artifact as it lay where it rested and trying to imagine how it got to its final place. I also believe that it honors the dead when the ships story can be told and finally the dead can rest easy. I think the people of Tobago are absolutely doing this the right way. What a great new way to collect tourism revenue with a in tact battle scene just feet below the waters surface. What a trill
