If you turn pic IMG 0555 around 180 degrees...you will see the 3 digit date of 655 which is indeed 1655. Common assayer...overall a nice snag.

Macky...can't be a 1/2...not with a shield showing on the coin, at least in this case.

Awesome find, I'm from mass as well and never found anything that good. What area of mass did you find this in if you don't mind me asking? I am always looking for a hunting partner if you are interested?
