1652 cut tree coin. Thinking by its size that it is a 3 pence. Coin maybe folded. But is it oak or pine? Any observations and input is appreciated.

Sweet. Looks like an oak tree to me

Doesn't look cut looks damaged, like hammered I find in ploughed fields?

Congrats on the silver.
The first photo on the lower edge looks like there is an indent/cut line

Super find in any condition! :hello2:

Now there's something ya don't see everyday.

Well done.

That's a great example of why we're out there digging away. You just never know. Major, major congrats!

Hi Jim Denise and i were just saying how much we miss seeing you guys since the shop closed, yes the old DFX has been killing it on 17 th century silver this year.

Great find there Rhode Hog. I am gathering that that site has given up other Tree silvers. Without giving your spot away can you describe in general terms what kind of site is giving up multiple MA silvers? Wealthy landowner's cellar hole? Old meeting house/church or tavern?

Historic!!! Looks like an oak to me and having been blessed enough to join the tree club, I understand the feeling and excitement- CONGRATS :occasion14:
