What year is this? Looks like 1695 from the ribbon. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1510590414.184978.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1510590428.591253.jpgScored a new permission - early 1700’s home and cornfield - in the next town over. This is only my 5th or 6th 1600’s coin so I’m pumped! Lots of 1900’s garbage in the field closest to the house but found the copper right near where the woods start. The majority of the field is completely devoid of signals. The guy said come back whenever you want, so I’ll be going back! Haven’t even touched the yard yet...

Niiice! I'm still looking for my first 1700's coin; a coin from the 1600's would be the bomb! Congrats!

Luke 15: “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search?"

Looks like dirtwisher’s wish came true! Great coins and enjoy your new permission

Congrats Dirtwisher! Two really great finds. Its nice to see that the SLQ has a date. Got one the other day, but the date was wiped. Love the William iii halfpenny! I'm guessing that the other side is pretty toasted...always frustrating when the side with the date is unreadable. Still...looks like you have a coin minted in the 1600's...doesn't get any better than that!

Love those old coins.
Can't beat a hunt like that
Congrats

I love seeing a nice W3 on our side of the pond. Very nice

Congrats on your 17th century copper , the slq is in great shape thats another great find! Congrats

Thanks everyone! The other side is indeed unrecognizable. In fact, I️ have yet to get a date on any British copper KG3 or earlier. It’s weird though, Willie the 3rd and I️ must have some kind of bond. I️ don’t get out a ton and I️ probably only have about 20 British coppers but four are William III and one is a William and Mary. Small range of years to nail repeatedly. I️ wonder if the mintage was really big for them.

No idea what the heck happened there. I️ typed I️, and the A and symbol appeared, but only after I️ hit save.

Thanks, Bill! Nice job on your book! What an accomplishment from cover to cover.
