Well i found this last night or so, the pics dont show the 16 as good as i hoped, but if you looked the bottom of the half of the coin (no clue why its only half of it) you can see a 16, theres some sorta detail, almost like clothing i think above it, (not visible in pic) also the 16 stands out more in person. there appears to be a space after the 16, than 1 or 2 more numbers, but i cant make them out... So is this my oldest coin? Or something else.

looking at your pics, I can make out the '16' that you mention. Due to it's condition, it's hard to tell from the pics if it is actually a coin or not. It is always helpful when whatzit posters provide as much information as possible, such as size or include something in the pic to compare size to, as well as location where it was found, at least approximately. For example, if it were found in Kansas or Nebraska, the chances of it being a cob coin are a lot lower than if it were found in states along the Eastern seaboard where others have been found. Just from the pics, it looks more steel or iron than silver and the rim looks more die punched than hammered

Ok, ill take other pictures with a quarter for refrence, it was found in south east georgia, we are about an hour from the beach. And according to my testing kit (compared it with something i know is sivler) it was silver.. If it was iron, down here, it would be very rusted, it came out like that..
