Got out today to a couple older sites. First site got an 1871 2-cent piece, nice 1902 IHC, some decorative thing (any idea what it is?), and a hefty silver ring. Weighs 16.1 grams! The initials are RR, which are my initials, PLUS, it fits on my ring finger, so it was meant to be. No markings on the inside but the outside has two stamps... one I can't tell anything, but the second has what looks like "PB" (small chance at PG). The letters are separated by what looks like a wheel? What do you guys think of its age? Based on the marks outside, I'm thinking not American or British. Initials look crude, so I'm thinking it may be a little older. Thanks for any thoughts! I tried getting focused pics, but unfortunately this is the best I could get.

What suggests not American made to you ? I agree with you as to it not being British . As to age , I think circa 1940's -50's based on style . Nice heavy piece ! The mark looks a bit like a ships wheel , the piece looks kinda homemade ,the top and side shoulders look applied ( rather than cast) - as seen in the side profile pic .

From what I've seen, it's not much of an American thing to put the stamp on the outside of the band. Seems like most of the stamps are inside the band.

I'll clean up the ring a bit more, and get the dirt out of the crevices. Will help tell if it's one full ring, or if the sides were applied.
