1500's Thimble

Hi guys, got out yesterday and found this beautiful Thimble. Found in Hertfordshire, England.

I'm normally more into my coins but there's just something really nice about this... Possibly the lovely tactile feel to it, so I thought I'd share it.
Also found this lovely George III silver 6 Pence.

Nothing that I could see, would they be near the rim or top?

I think in my case it's absent....had a look and couldn't see anything obvious. Oh well still a lovely piece of history.

How do you know the date of the thimble ? From the style ? 1500s is really old

The spiral pattern and the shape of the thimble itself suggests that date. Of course I could be wrong but from the research I've done it matches perfectly...also the field we're on has loads of medieval stuff on there.
