I got a late start today. Procrastinated a little over some coffee in front of the Boob Tube. I started swinging the coil in an area I had never visited before. I can tell from the amount of quarters, this place hasn't been visited by too many other treasure hunters either. Today the park was pretty empty. It is a school day and the chilly weather and 40 mph wind gusts probably had something to do with it.
I picked an area that I thought was used as a picnic grove in the summer and a sledding hill in the winter. After a little over an hour of scanning lots of clad, I got a nice little chirp. Had to dig it out from under a root from a tree stump. A 1952s Roosevelt Dime. Silver # 150 for the year.
The rest of the day was a cakewalk. I thought I would be leaving the park a little earlier than I usually do but when I finally turned off the machine, it was a little after 4 P.M. Time sure flies when you're having fun.
My finds for the day were: 35q, 30d, 2n, 60 memorials, 5 Wheat Pennies, (25, 45(2), 50, & 56d), and a 1952d Silver Roosevelt Dime. I also recovered a Hot Wheels, a U.S. Army crossed sabers w/B hat badge, a miniature camera, a bicycle reflector a couple of brass nuts, a brass lock and some copper scrap.
My 2015 Silver Coin Total is now 150 Coins.
Happy Friday the 13th everybody
