Detector(s) used
Minelab Equinox 600, Garrett GTI 2500, JW Fisher Pulse 8X
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I follow Minelab on instagram and was very surprised to see a post from them at some event in Europe showcasing the new 15” coil. Everyone swinging their beautiful trash can lid sized coils around looking for Saxon gold. Anyone have any intel as to their actual arrival here in the US?

Well considering they showed off the Equinox at the same festival a year ago and the actual production detectors did not show up until February, I'd say they'll be available before the end of the year but not too much sooner than that.

I'll bet the EQ will be a shoulder killer with that big coil. The 11" is borderline. 6" is nice and feather lite.

Yeah, I'm afraid it will be a bit nose heavy, but, I still want one! The sooner, the better. :icon_thumleft: I'll use a sling if I need to.

I want one, too!

Oh -- and I'm working on a solution for the "nose heavy" thing, which I plan to have available when my complete shaft system is ready... ;)

I'll be waiting with baited breath......:icon_thumleft:

LOL @ cudamark!

I'm working on it as quickly as I can -- but I'm learning that engineering/product development/prototyping does not go as quickly as I wished! Progress is happening though, slowly but surely...

I think counterbalancing might become important, upon widespread release of that 15 incher...

Late fall is what I heard on availability of the 15" coils.

TH -- thanks for that update. I had heard possibly November, somewhere...which matches what you are reporting.

Thanks!

Steve

No problem. I have the 17 for my ctx and the 18 on my at pro.

15 is actually smaller than I would like.

I added 6oz to the rear of mine. Helped a lot but I think 8oz would be better. The ergonomics is poor, especially when your other detector is a F75+ which is pure love on its ergonomics. Still love my 600 though, cant wait for the coil.
