Sorting through a basket of pocket watch chains at an antique mall. Usually everything here is picked over or very overpriced. However, the last chain I picked up I instantly bought for $45. The fob's marking was blocked by the chain. It tested positive at 14k but the marking honestly looks like it could be 18k. I will have to have it tested electronically tomorrow. Great looking piece weighing 9 grams (the fob is 9 grams). The rest of the chain is gold filled. I plan on putting the fob on a nice chain and actually wearing it around with a pocket watch!

Masonic. It's up to you, but they would probably frown upon you wearing it.

I realize it is masonic, actually Scottish 32nd degree to be exact. Either I wear or sell it but anyone I sell it to would end up melting it down for good..

Yes, Scottish Rite. It doesn't really matter to me, I was just pointing it out. Great find.

If I knew a freemason in real life I would be glad to sell my masonic items to them but I have never met anybody..

Looks 18kt to me also. Great find.

Wow, 9 grams of 18k gold...that's a chunk, great score!

Way ta go. I'd find a buyer.:coffee2:

Great score, congratulations! :occasion14:

Sweeeeeeet find

That's a cool looking fob. I've found a few of the old Masonic items over time and I list them in the Fraternal organizations category on eBay, as that's the best place to get the most out of them I believe. The old stuff was so beautifully made. Even though the watch chain is GF, those sell pretty well especially if they're period pieces. Seems there's someone always out there looking for one to add to an old pocket watch
