Went to park I have'nt been to in years this morning. I was there around 3 hours. I was finding tons of clad in the grassy areas, but took a break to do the woodchip area for a bit. The third target in the chips was the 14K men's wedding band. It's inscribed 10-1-88 Always and Forever JM to DK. Ironically, 2 months after our wedding and that song was played at our wedding. Now I start the search for the owner. Also got two wheaties a 40 and 56. Today is the tagging day for raising money for the Pop Warner cheerleading and football. My wife coaches the junior peewee cheerleaders and all raised money comes to our house for counting. My youngest already pulled out a 1938 wheatie in nice shape. I'll post if I find any good ones in the pile of change.

Cladtasic day...these are the posts I really enjoy...the ring made the trip into the wood chips more then worth it... :)

Nice hunt and I hope you find the owner of the ring! HH, Mike

Very nice ring...Good clad count too. Very good day there!. Have a good one,

Anyone have an idea how I could find out about marriages performed on a certain day? This might be harder then I thought. If I can find a database of that I can at least narrow it down to the intials on the ring. Thanks.

Not me Mike but your per coin value is 7.3 cents keep up the good work. :)

I'd start with start with somebody who works with the morgue (backfiles) for the major newspaper in the area to see how the marriage might have been recorded by them. Your better half can probably tell you where every jot of public notice of her marriage is located. The place where you got your license will know if the county keeps a record of actual marriage dates. Odds are the ring was lost by a local party but people move around a lot and it's a guess. I'd probably consider my duty done with checking locally. I do recall running across a web site that lists lost & found rings. I'll let you know when/if I find it again ! Beyond all that, I might ask a homicide cop what he would do with the info if he pried that ring off a cold one, but that procedure might not be too relevant to the current problem...i.e., no missing person lists, etc.

WTG Mike ! alot of clad and a ring :o you had a super day congrats ;)

Wat to go Mike! That's a real good day for sure. Bringing home the gold makes it even better!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!! That looks like some terrific digs! Good luck trying to find the owner of the ring. Nice pile of clad.

HH

These are the coins I was able to get from the fundraising efforts of the cheerleaders and football players. No silver but did get wheaties and nickels older than 1959. They raised $2,018 yesterday.

Nice finds..if I found such a ring it would be my personal quest to find the owner..that would be quite a loss for anyone to lose a wedding ring. At least you got some info to begin your search..there's got to be a way of finding marriage records in town..maybe the churches in that area can help you.

Best of luck, I hope you find the guy it belonged to.

Excellent diggin Mike.
Good luck findin the ring owner too...

Keep safe...

Congrats Mike. One day when I become brave enough to open the disc on my detector, I'll be able to post with such great variety! From clad to gold, you're consistent in finding them all on the same trip :)
