Found this watch at a coin store for $50. Its 14k solid gold, doesn't run, but I will get it fixed up! Anyone know how much something like this could go for all fixed and working like new? Sent pictures into Longines who actually will look at pictures of your watch and send you any info they find out about it. So far I can't find the same model anywhere online. It seems to be from 1942 based off the serial number. The gold alone is worth more than $50 obviously. But I refuse to sell this for scrap value as it just looks way too nice. I will definitely be wearing this! Opinions?

Nice buy on a good looking watch. I really love the tiered lugs. I would think it would be worth about the money you put into it to get it running. $200-$300

I would have to agree to getting it fixed. Take to jeweler and see if they know someone. It is a nice looking watch. Congrats on the good deal.

That's cool!! Great job! I personally think it's a keeper after you get it running and cleaned up a bit. Not to often one can say " I have a 14k Longines watch from the 40's.

I think your money ahead on just the gold alone. The guy I use in my area charged me $90.00 to clean, oil and adjust a time only manual windup wristwatch. I have before just purchased a good running movement for a Hamilton once to put in one that wasn't running. I got it off eBay watch parts for $18.00 and made good money on it. Because gold is so high these days you should have a pretty good chance at finding that same running Longines movement that was stripped for the gold case value. As it is now your watch is still worth at least 3 times the $50 you gave for it, if not more. Coin stores can be awesome places to find good deals.
