Hey Detecting Nerds,
Wanted to get out today for an hour or two. Had some much needed rain here in NJ yesterday. The ground was starting to get REALLY dry. Was brutally humid today also.
Had a feeling, a premonition almost, to go to this little park about two minutes from my house. I hunted there before and only found some clad. Thought I would try another section today. When I pull up, I notice that they must've just set-up a volleyball net. B-I-N-G-O!!!
As I set-up by the net, I also made the decision to dig EVERY good signal today. About a half hour into the hunt, after finding just clad a pop-tops, I got a real sweet VDI of 50. It was giving a depth of 2 or 3 inches. I dug my plug and out popped the little beauty in the pics. Not sure if the diamonds are real. Probably not with my luck Also missing one stone. The markings on the inside say "14K R.G.P.". I don't have a machine, so, I'll have to bring it to a jeweler buddy of mine as I normally do.
I also found this cool old key. Looks to be a skeleton key or something similar. Found about a buck in clad too. Not bad for a two hour hunt. Finally. Geez!!! Sorry for the bad pics. Have to learn how to take better close-ups with my camera. Enjoy.
