Hello.I`m new to this site.Enjoying it very much.I was hoping to find info on a coin from a flea market junk bin.found along side an almost unc.1907"H" canadian large cent.It has a star(of David?) on one side and some (Arabic?) symbols over a line with the numbers "1286"below, on the other.Material seems to be bronze or the like, edges are smooth and tapered up to the date side.Top and bottom seem to be slightly`clipped' much like modern error coins, but very crudely done. Also, there is a dot in the center of the star and a ring of out-ward extending lines round the star.Sorry no pictures.I`m too dumb to know how to do that yet! Thank you for any help......hope I can return the favor some day.

Re: 1286 coin?

It sounds as if it's probably a cast bronze falus from the Kingdom of Morocco. The Islamic Hejira date 1286 corresponds to our year 1869. Here's one dated 1288 for comparison.
