1265X, need some advice as to its best use

just received a 1265X. Fisher is sending me a manual. What type of hunting is it best used for?
and in mint condition, as mine is with two coils, what would be its value for resale??

I think the 1265 and 66 are some of the best relic machines. I suppose you have the factory coil, plus a 12'' coil? I bought my big coil when they had a sale on stuff for the 1265 and modified it to fit the 1266 (same attachment at the box). I think I paid 20 bucks for the coil back in 1994 or so. Now, if you have a hothead coil that's another story. Those were fairly expensive as I recall. I would say you could get $350 for it no problem. I think they listed for about $450 back in the mid-90's from Kellyco.

Buckleboy is right on the money. I bought a 65 for $20 (w/ a bed frame and a speed driver set) and it is a good machine for relic hunting (maybe great), I have dug some pretty deep stuff with it.
