I have seen such nails nailed onto old wooden railroad ties !

Might be one of those ! :icon_scratch:

I know what that is...lol..
There would be 2 of the same number nailed next to each other one for the house one for the screen. I've seen some still in use on older houses, meant to keep the right screen or storm window with the right window frame.
Somewhere around here I have a unused card of those with 3 of the same numbers on them, I would guess they were sold in lots with 3 of the same number 1 for the window frame, one for a screen and one for a glass storm window.

The date nails that were on the railroad were large shank, they were nails about 1/4" square and about 3 inches long.
