12 rolls....that's right 12 rolls of steel cents!

I went to pick up my halves today and the teller informs me that a customer brought in $6 (12 rolls) of steel pennies! They were all marked rolls, separated by date and mintmark. Unfortunately I didn't get to buy them because one of the other tellers bought them right away! Aren't steel pennies about a buck apiece? That was a nice $6 investment for her!

Just goes to show you never know what could show up at a bank!

Not quite. In fine condition, it is a 30 cent coin. Only in AU or better grades, are they worth anything. The problem with the steel is that they wore down heavily.

Still at .30 each x 600 = $180. Not a bad for a $6 investment!

I agree. Not a bad $6 investment, but that is assuming that they measure up to a Fine grade. I include steelies in my wheat lots which sell for 3-4 cents a wheat.
