Well it looks like a mini ball but what are the dimensions? If its .5 inch its a .50 cal and if its .54 inch then its a .54 cal or a number of other calibers. It always has to do with measuring the diameter. If its not a normal american dimension then its in millimeters for a European rifle.

Thanks for your responses. it is at least .5" in diameter, but I'm using a tape measure so it's not exact. The nose of the bullet or minie ball is flattened from impact but doesn't match up closely to your normal minie ball.

Update: I think I have found this to possibly be a .575-470 Modern Mini Ball or something similar.
