I purchased a used Detech 10x12 SEF coil today for my DFX. I have been using the D2 coil and liked it okay but it was a tad heavy. According to what I have found the 10X12 is a little lighter than the 950 but real close and not as heavy as the D2. I have a friend that uses one on his V3i and likes it so I thought I would give the 10x12 a try. Anyone got any experience with the 10X12 on the DFX? How do you think it compared to the stock or D2 coil depth wise and separation wise. I don't use a big coil very much but wanted one for wide open areas. I love the 6X8 SEF coil and rarely take it off. Please give me some opinons on the new coil.

The sef 10x12 is my go to coil. I haven't used my D2 since I got it. I think I saw a post of pic with the two on a scale. On another forum. They were very close in weight. I have a test garden. Made in the mid 80's. The sef 10x12 hits coins at least a inch deeper. It has good separation for its size. My sef 10x12 is white. My first sef was a black 6x8. I liked it so much. That I had to try the 10x12 & I am glad I did. I hit spot I previously pounded with my D2. In two hours. I dug five holes. I Had five dimes. 3 silver,2 clad. Three had nails in the hole with them & two were on edge. They were all in the 6"-8" range. The signals were iffy but read good enough for me to dig. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine. HH.
