10K ring today

Hi everybody. Last weekend I finally broke down and applied for a permit to search city parks here in Boise. Well, I'm glad I did, because tonight I got a small gold ring with a colored gold leaf motif. After I took my wife out to eat tonight, I decided to spend the last half hour before dark searching the huge park just down the street from my house. I was digging all signals, mostly pulltabs and can slaw. After about 25 pulltabs and bottle caps, I decided to go home after the signal I was digging, when out popped the ring. I'm surprised it isn't scratched, because I stabbed it with my screwdriver several times getting it out (only a small screwdriver is allowed as a digging tool). My wife wants the ring...should I give it to her? HH Niffler

Positively give it to her ... for all the # 1 dog house reasons mentioned above and reason # 2 so you should not hear , the dreaded words , " why are you wasting your time ? , you never find anything good " besides there is work to be done around the house and later we can go shopping CMD

congrats on the beautiful ring.... you can give it to her and maybe she will encourage you to go detecting more often....i gave my wife a few and she doesnt mind when i go detecting every weekend .... as a matter of fact when ever i find a new ring that she likes better than the ones i gave her i make her trade up so at least i get something out of it and she gets a nicer ring than the one she had...i know it sounds a little cheesy but so far its kept both of us happy....

You have to have a permit and then can only use a probe? That SUCKS! I'm kind of worried that with the high metal prices, a bunch of idiots around here will start hittin the parks with a wal-mart special and a spade and ruin everything. Cool ring btw haha.
