10k gold and '53 Rosie.

Today was my 3rd day out with the XP Deus. Got a 1953 Rosie and a 15.2 gram 10k gold class ring. Still have lots of learning but I'm getting the hang of the Deus. Yesterday found 2 Mercury dimes.

I'd like to find the original owner of the class ring, if anyone has suggestions how to best go about such a connection, your advise will be greatly appreciated! I already sent a generic e-mail to the school's alumni association.

Happy hunting all!

I just dug my first ever class ring today and was able to find out who the owner was before I even left the field by searching Social Media sites on my phone. Having the full name engraved (not just initials) helped a lot.

Turns out the guy works in my hometown, so the return will be easy, but I want to come up with a creative way to do it.

Congrats on the Gold and Silver!!

Congrats on the Gold and Silver!!

I've been giving it some thought. If the guys friends can get him to come to a MD meeting is there a way to put on a "fake" one say on a Saturday during the day? If so you could bury his ring a week ahead of time and during the class offer a hands on lesson. Take them outside and kind of steer them in the right direction. Imagine the look on his face if he were to dig up his own ring?

Haha beez, that would be pretty amazing. It would require me to give up my new spot though because I'm sure he remembers where he lost it or at least if he's been in a park before with the ring.

Good thinking, though. I think the surprise of him hearing his name as I announce it during show and tell will generate a pretty good reaction too.
