does anyone use this coil on there 250? and how do ya pinpoint with it??

I use one on my MXT and they DO take time to learn how to pinpoint. They pinpoint at about the "LER" in Excelerator that is written down the spine of the coil. However, after using it for quite awhile you'll learn how to pinpoint with it right off the tip of the coil :icon_thumleft:

This is no easy task, that coil is like swinging a toilet cover seat. :laughing9: They are great for quickly covering larges areas of ground and going perhaps 1-2 " deeper, but pinpointing is difficult to say the least. On my machine I have found it a low and right of the coils center. If you have a child's sandbox near you, it may be best to bury a coin, mark and dig and that will give you a better idea.

It is as easy as a smaller coil you need to use it and practice with it
It is a large coil tho so be aware it can pic up many targets under the coil at one time so you really need to learn to seperate the targets one at a time or dig em all ;D
I have one from JW at Kelly Co and have a short write up on their site when I first got the coil  and used it at a ghost town I hunt
I like it BUT it is big ;D

Here is a quick story on it, click the link https://www.kellycodetectors.com/Field Test Reports/10x14_sef_ace_brian.htm

Re: 10''by 14'' excelorator for ace 250

I bought this coil for my sons (ages 10 and 13) last Christmas and there's a little bit of a learning curve here.

Before we get into "how to pinpoint", let me say that if you use this coil in trashy areas, it'll drive you crazy. Forget about it! You'll never pinpoint anything when you have several targets under the coil.

Pinpointing:
1. Find an small area of ground where there is NO signals - totally clean of any targets.
2.Toss a quarter on the ground.
3. Swipe the coil over it, back and forth (medium speed - not too slow - not too fast), this simulates actually finding a coin and hearing the ding-ding-ding.
4. Position the coil to right of the coin.
5. Press and hold your pinpoint button, then move the coil back over the coin, back and forth until you get a full signal (maxed out on the strength bar).
6. Now slide the coil back toward you, until the signal dies. The coin should be just off the tip of the coil.

Remember, if there are several targets under the coil, those other targets will interfere with the steps noted above.

This should be in the Garret detector section , not on the todays finds page .
