Today I went to a river bank(where there was lots of sand) and my detector was going crazy. One of my finds was this and I has no idea what it is . It looks like a rock with some sort of wood connected. This is my first post so tell me if I am doing something wrong please.

Welcome to Tnet stealth You'll find a great bunch of very helpful people here.

With my limited knowledge I would suggest you have a piece of melted aluminum can from an old campfire or the like. Similar pieces are often posted here.

- and you did fine with your posting Your pics could be a bit clearer but we're all still learning. I look forward to hearing about more of your finds.
