10000th & Something Post...
I've been detecting for over twenty years & my wish list has varied as I have ticked off some 'impossibles', or thats what I thought. Last years I got my first Celtic Gold Coin closely followed by Dads first, however this year I've had a further 2 & Dad another 1
However, this one was the highlight of the year. It was on my wish list no.3 & whenever you tick off a rare find like this, it tends to be in poor condition. But I struck lucky with this one and got a cracking, almost 'as struck' condition coin in the middle of a Roman Site Not much other evidence of Saxon other than a Strapend on the same day.
How this came out like this in heavily ploughed fields I will never understand 8)
