I typically troll around this forum, but seldom post because I never have anything exciting to post about. I might find half a dozen 40% and an occasional walker, for the most part a have significantly scaled back my box ordering( due to way to many skunks) and just rely on what I find in teller trays when I go to the bank on non crh business.

Tomorrow I will be embarking on 1000 mile road trip that will take me from Los Angeles through Sacramento to finishing in Reno or maybe Carson City, only to turn around in 3 days and repeat the trip in reverse.
It is a sight seeing tour via Amtrak trains(won a free trip), banks will not be my focus, but I do intend to hit up the banks when I stop in those places. I must admit that I do regret not being big on ordering boxes anymore ( and waiting to long to call the banks in reno to have boxes arrive) I would have liked to sample the cuisine in cities so far away. But for reasons I already stated I have been demoralized out of ordering boxes.

Anybody have any words of wisdom, I can take with me?

PS bank in January of 2009 I stayed in Laughlin NV and ordered 4000 dollars in halfs from flagstaff AZ about 2 hours away, it was a nice snowy drive but all I got for my troubles was nothing. And that seems to be a very common theme with me for boxes in the last 2.5 years. Boxes were kind of addicting but are just not worth the effort anymore

Most certainly!

I use Google Maps to plot my route...I print out a list of banks and their addresses on paper. Then, I plug in the info into google maps and she gives me turn by turn directions, as a lot of the banks I hit I've never been to before (I know where the town is, but no idea where the bank is in town)

I hit Reno and Laughlin NV hard several times a year. In Reno I would get customer rolls, not boxes. I ordered boxes on many occasions and nothing. I always find some silver with customer rolls there. Good Luck!
