Other than a couple of grass boarders the Cover Crop field (with slower growing/late drilled grass) is our last option. It's another blind hunt with no intel other than it's close to a Roman Road. Our aim was to get 1 hammered & after about 3.5 hrs with no real signs, we thought it out of the question. But Cru'dad saved us with one of the ugliest folded up Hammereds we had seen in awhile.
5 hours gridding:

18th C Silver Cuff-link button
1st C AD Roman Fibula (Brooch)
Roman Hair Pin
A Medieval Horse Harness Pendant, I think it's similar to a banner type that stands up & not hung down (not had this type & can't find a match)
Mary I Groat (hard to ID, needed to unfold it, it's very worn & clipped)

Time to go fishing again. If the weather cooperates it's 5-6 weeks for the first stubble fields!

I'll take a hammered no matter what condition :)
Any chance of unfolding that? Although it looks like you did as much as possible....

Once I unfolded one side to get the ID for our GPS records, no need to risk the other side as its not an album coin. Just gets chucked in with the pile of low grade ones.
