Detector(s) used
Whites Spc xlt & Tesoro Tejon- Now back ...Fisher 1266-X. TRX Pointer. New .Teknetics G2 + . New AT Pro .
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I got onto a small location yesterday , W/ some Known CW activity (Known since the advent of Metal detectors).
The site was littered with Deep older Can,s :icon_scratch: & their Deep pulltabs. Oh Well

I did manage to find a 100 Pecos Coin that is Thick & heavy , and came up pretty clean (Gold Tone)
needless to say I thought I may have found my 1st gold coin :laughing7:
BUT- I was using my XLT and it gave a VDI# of 72 :icon_scratch:Hmmmm Brass but it's not tarnished hardly at all? & Heck A silver Dime gives a VDI of 80-84. (but this thing was 5 inches deep!)
Needless to say the coin was ,NOT Gold but a 1988 100 peco coin ...it cleaned up good so ill def, take it. As it's much better than nothing.

Does it have a guy with a beard and glasses? Venustiano Carranza. 100 pesos, Mexico. This was from the hyperinflationary period, before the last devaluation, so no longer in circulation. Pretty much worthless, but cool!

You got it ! He does have one heck of a Beard. LOL

Never dug one of those Davers. In fact, the only Mexican coin I've dug was a 1832 8 reales from a CW site. Nice dig & WTG, Q.

Yeah Quindy
This is the only one I have dug other than the one I found in my front yard while preparing for a club hunt .(Strange!)
I wish the one I dug was a Reals type coin.
These Pecos coins must have an alloy of Aluminum in them for the to come out of the ground soo Shiny with the look of 10k gold.
