Since I am half Hungarian you can send it to me! It looks like a restrike......

Hungarian 100 Koronas are minted of 900 fine (21.6 karat) gold, and each coin contains 0.98 ounce of gold. The restrike date is 1908. (A restrike is an official reproduction of a coin that once was minted for circulation.) The edges are lettered with Bizalmam az osi erenyben.

Also like the Australian 100 Coronas, Hungarian 100 Koronas are no longer minted and are among the lowest-premium gold bullion coins available. Hungarian 100 Koronas are less common than the Austrian 100 Coronas. Sometimes a few 100 Koronas will be included in an order of Austrian 100 Coronas. Dealers often do not distinguish between the two because they are essentially the same coin.

Thanks for the info! Sorry Gypsy i don't think I'll be sending it to you.... From looking on google I did figure it was a restrike, BUT GOLD is GOLD!!!!!!

There is a strange story behind this coin. A friend of mine at work asked if he could borrow my metal detector. I asked for what He said he heard a story about the previous owner of his home used to bury "stuff" in his back yard. He said he bought the house from the old mans sister after he died (hit by a car), the sister has been dead for about 10 years now. He thought the story of buried stuff was just a story, and did nothing until last weekend, he dug a few holes along a fence next to a few posts, and on the second post. he found 8 of these coins buried in a metal tin.

What has me wondering is WHEN were these restrikes made Is he just pulling my leg Either way I'm heading over there this weekend to help him out. It's a neat old homesite, so were see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

And, NO I've never been told I look like Albert Pujlos, BUT thanks..... I think?!?!
