my brother in law works at a gas station and got a $100 bill from a oldler lady. He said it says "bank of chicigo" on it and the year is 1963 so i did a little research and from what i have found it doesn't look like $100 bills from 1963 ever have a bank name on them. If my research is correct and the bill really did say chicigo bank on it that would place the bill at the year 1929. Is this correct? perhaps he is just mistaken on the year. it is locked it the store safe now so i have no way of checking. The other question i have is if it is a bank note from 1929 is it still legal tender? Or would i have to sell it to a coin shop or on ebay to ever get the money back out of it?
