10 Silver Day Plus Injuns, V's, Buffalos and a LC
I got out for another short camping trip this weekend and still haven't made it to where I want to go. I spent the day in a small town park that I had done a little research on before I left. The park is as old as the town. For starters I'm going to tell you that I only found 3 wheat pennies, zero Rosies and not very much clad. It's been hunted pretty hard but with something other than a Minelab. The 2 Mercs I found were early ones, a '17 and '20d, I found 2 Buffalos, a '14 and a '19, the 3 V nickels were a '02, '07 and a '11 the Injuns were '82, '87, '92, '97 and a '07. A '05 Barber quarter and the Barber dimes are '05o, '07, '09o, '12, '13 and a '16. Then to round it off I found the sterling ring to make it a 10 silver day. I also dug a Large cent but I'm a little bummed that its too corroded to read the date, I tried electrolisis but I might have done more harm than good. The soil there was very rocky, I could not dig one plug without hitting a rock and I have a blister to prove it. On my way back home I had planned to hit another place but the rain shot that so I went a little further to another small town in the middle of nowhere. The park was almost as big as the town. I found a '00 Injun right off the bat and thought I was going to have a repeat of the day before but it wasn't so, I got 5 more Injuns, 2 more '00's an '02, '03 and a '07. 2 Buffalos another '14 and a 20s. An '00 V and only 2 silver this time, a '15s Barber dime and a '25 Merc and 8 wheats. I'm already planning my next camping trip and maybe I'll make it to my destination this time. Thanks for looking and HH.
