10/25/12 A good day of digging I'd say
Got out with my good friend Nate and found some interesting relics. Got a very early 1 piece Virginia Button and a very cool coin from a 1909 celebration in honor of Henry Hudson and Robert Fulton. It celebrated the 300th anniversary of Henry Hudson discovery and sailing up the Hudson River and Robert Fultons successful first steam powered ship to sail the Hudson River. The celebration was held in New York City from September 25 through October 11, 1909. How the coin made it down the southeast Virginia is amazing as they are very rare from what I read. Found our usual load of flat buttons, coins, and other neat things. I included a picture of what the Hudson-Fulton coin looks like if it were in mint condition, which mine is not lol. Thanks for looking and visit youtube to see the live dig under wesnvirginia or click the link
