Well, the kids are off from school for today and tomorrow so I had to stick around the house. Really wanted to do some MDing, so what does everyone do when the shakes start and they can't go anywhere? That's right! I hit the backyard! Between swatting all the misquitoes and trying to salvage some daylight, I managed to find one screw; one heavily corroded nail or screw; four bottle caps (must be my week for bottle caps); 2 pull tabs; and one 1965 quarter. I always consider it a good hunt when I at least find one coin. I'd rather find some neat relics, but I'll take the coin any day! LOL! That was my day, I hope ya'll out there are having great finds!

Lance - Don't think I got any mosquitoes, but if I did, four more would take it's place. Finally went in and put on bug spray, which I hate because it feels icky on my skin. It helped me stay out longer, but then they started attacking my face and eyes where I didn't spray. LOL!

Headhunter - Congrats on the wheatie! Hope your wife is feeling better.

Sherman - As you might say "Fate and futility in a obsessive pursuit". I think that says it all!

Nana - I know what you mean! I do feel better, thanks!

Floater - You've gotta quit working so hard!!! I don't know of anyone yet who has said on their deathbed, "I wish I had spent more time at work"! Think about it.

Gigi - I love those things too! But had to stick around the house cuz of the kids!

The one thing that I didn't get to start metal detecting and I found out fast I needed it.......insect repellent! Now I carry a bottle of the 40% Deet from Wally World and a little bottle of a spritz-on itch stopper I found at the drug store. I think we have those SE Asia mosquitos around here. They are tiny and look striped and talk about itch! They're worse than the ones that resemble Teradactyls! (sp?). I went out one day wearing jeans and long sleeves thinking I was safe but I was wearing short socks and every time I bent over to dig I exposed bare skin between my socks and jeans. Something.....chiggers I believe, ate my ankles on both legs! I must have had two dozen bites just around my ankles. Now that it's getting cooler at night I have noticed very few mosquitos thank God!
