A member posted some pics of some sweet digging finds a couple days ago including Geyser Spring Saratoga water bottles circa 1870's-early 1880's. Was it all a dream? No, I couldn't even dream of a more satisfying dig so it had to be real. Here are the best I acquired from the dream dig. all.JPGall-2.JPGb- togas.JPGb-pontil med rectangle.JPGb-pontil scar.JPGred pottery pipe.JPGz- single toga.JPG

I'm not a bottle digger, but after seeing your finds it makes me want to become one. Great going and thanks for sharing.

5 Geyser spring togas
blob top embossed beer with stopper
sulpho lythin chemist bottle
ornate red pottery pipe
ceramic lid of some kind with blue designs and handle
a crude rectangle open pontil med
an 1860's pottery druggist crock(mint)
ceramic painted doll head
Dr. Pierces smart weed extract bottle in aqua
Dr. King's new discovery mini med bottle
Big early machine cork top bromo seltzer
a prison ink with 49(7x7) diamond points on the bottom
a glass stopper

not seen:
milk glass oil lamp base with designs
2 round bottom applied top clear glass bottles with no embossed features
a bunch of slightly damaged pontil meds

That is pretty much all. Was insanity. I will never forget these digs.

Those are some great finds !!

Those are some great bottles. The spring water bottles are classics!

Nice pontil, i like the pipe and the doll also.

Thanks everyone. I always wanted to dig a Saratoga water bottle. Just one would have been fine. That feeling is hard to beat when you are scoring like this on a bottle hunt. This is one of those memories I'll look back forever.

I know what you mean trucker... some of the most fun and excitement ever. When your in a hotspot and you can feel the bottle and can tell it has writing on it all you can do is be careful and hope it has no cracks or chips. I've made 10 times more money selling dug bottles than all of my metal detecting finds put together. Thanks for sharing.
