1 inch lead ball with a hole all the way through it.

Found this in the woods .
It's 121.31 grams.
This might have been a cow pasture in the 1920's to 40's.
I thought it might be a cow bell clapper.
Any ideas.

Looks like some poor squirrel thought it was a nut.... it's odd that it doesn't look worn around the hole or have rust staining like I would expect if it had been on a wire or a string. Must have been lost right away, not much patina either, so it hasn't been there all that long......

Yes you are correct . It was on top of the ground in the woods. I thought this should have been deeper than that.
