Just a quick question. Did you guys put dirt back on the Morgan to take a closeup photo? When in the field, it's cleaned off pretty well with only minor dirt left on it, but in the photo it's pretty caked with dirt.
Congrats again!

Yes, your are correct, good eye! Because everything happens so fast when you're in shock, we washed it off in the video before we got a good close up in the plug. Then we put it back in the plug to scan it again with the Etrac and video the tones and numbers. Kinda had to use wet mud to hold it in place. So when we pulled the plug back up the coin was caked again from the mud. I took in home in that condition and took indoor close up pics. If you look at the plug pic closely, you can see where the dirt above the coin is packed back in, but not perfect.

haha, perfectly understandable. That is such a superb find though! Definite kudos and I’m very envious!
I also have an e-trac and was surprised when you went over it in one of the modes and it was sort of blocked out. What setting did you have it on where it picked up very clearly?
Thanks and Congrats again!

Thanks for filming the extraction of the coin from the clod, what a rush. Congratulations on a remarkable coin. Next step: $20 gold coin!
