Detector(s) used
Just bought a used White's V3i. Can't wait to get it.

I'm sorry that this is a weak post. The White's V3i came to the door at 10:00 am today. I am brand new to this but put it together. I went to a local park. First dig was the bottom of a beer can. I know I'll learn more how to discriminate this later. Second dig, A Roosevelt 2000D dime. I know it's not much but it's the grandest thing to find a dime even if it is clad.

I have to tell you this equipment is used and the headphones didn't work. I called White's and spoke to Mary. She went through the settings with to see if something was set wrong. The end result was the headset wasn't any good. Mary said I should run wireless with this detector anyway. I said I can't afford the $300. She gave me the deal of a lifetime and I couldn't say so. Their service was just great. I'm glad I bought a White's.

Sounds all good to me, good luck and HH

Hey treblehunter,

Thanks for your reply. I tried again for a half hour and found another clad penny. It's not much but it's a start. My goal is to get to know the controls. I've always been a learning by doing kind of guy.

So, $0.11 cents is start. It's going to take a long time to re-coup my $1075.00 investment. All that means is I get to hunt a lot more. I'm a happy man.

Congrats on getting a White's V3i and getting into the hobby! I have lots of metal detectors but White's hands-down has the best customer service of any MD manufacturer. I purchased a couple of used White's MD's with problems and one that developed problems after my grandson got ahold of it without permission which I will soon be sending to White's for repairs. I am sure that all three will come back working better than when they were brand new! Around 1980, I sent in a White's 2000-D to them as the sound (both speakers and headphones) had quit working. They replaced every bad circuit in it, replaced some parts that had been upgraded and tuned the MD to the max. It would literally smoke every MD out there when it came to finding items. I could walk the same path that other MD'ers had taken and find twice as many coins and items than what they had found. I regret to this day for ever selling it but I had moved to a new area, did not know of any places the MD and we were strapped for money!

Keep at it and good luck! Since you are in Arizona, you are in a good place to find Gold Nuggets and it may only take one of the right size to pay for or more than pay for the MD.

Thanks for responding Frank,

It's a new adventure and I'm really excited about it. I'm glad I decided to spend more than I originally thought. The technology is fantastic. I'm sure the right treasure is waiting for me to find it. If nothing else, there is treasure in just finding this forum and meeting new friends.

Thank you for responding and happy hunting to you.

Once you get used to it, you'll realize how awesome of a machine it is. And I second your comment about White's customer service...it's top notch!

Welcome:hello:

Sounds like you got a rockin detector to get started. Always good to hear a story about a company that truly appreciates their costumers. Hope to see lots of posts on your finds. Get started on the research, learn to dig neat holes, and start banging some doors for permission.:icon_thumleft:

Watch some V3i YouTube videos. Username: Dirtfishing has some good videos and you will learn a ton. Good luck! That's a sweet machine.
