Nice finds Dutch. Can't say I know much about the buttons but they look old. Hopefully someone will be able to chime in with some info...
 

Being pewter, normally it's safe to bet late 1700s, does that fit the cellar hole date range?

Yes it does Mr. Crusader and these cellar holes are crudely made. You've got any thoughts on the motif? Thanks Dutch.

Other than being an expanding cross design, not really. It's not one I have seen, but it is Civilian.
