I used an Innov-X handheld XRF analyzer, gives you the elemental breakdown (chemistry) of an alloy.

Sounds like Red Brass or Bronze with the low zinc percentage. To enhance the machinability, lead is often added in concentrations of around 2%.
My guess is a ball from inside a one-way valve. Just a guess.

I have the luxury to use Innov-X Systems Delta XRF analyzer with my job. The list price starts at $27k.
comes in handy at our club meetings. :laughing7:
