AWESOME!!!!!!!! Roll over that $1,000 real hard, you're on a nice silver spree!

Since you brought the subject up, I decided to give quarters a try since it has been so long. I just finished $1500 in String wrapped. Zip, nada, zero! Now I remember why I haven't been searching shotgun rolls of quarters for 30 years. It's a waste of time for me. I probably could have found 5 dimes in that amount of dollars.

I gave up on quarters after about 1.5k They are obviously still available but its really dependent on luck rather than volume. All coins are worth hunting, but I would rather do dimes where I could score at least one or two per box. Quarters are usually my last resort at a bank, and part of that is because they are expensive to do by the box. I would much rather do a box of halves than a box of quarters. Even in dry areas halves seem to produce more.

Yes, I would also rather do halves. But in my area they come in bags only and they have been picked through to no end. Almost all of them have various colored marks on them. Only way for me was to get lucky was asking a teller if they have an halves. If the search today skunks, then I will probably let them(quarters) rest for a while also. Even dimes are more hard to find in brinks than they were in the past. Guess that should be expected tho now a days. Challenge keeps up the interest along with value.

The search in quarters today was a skunk. Oh well. At least the dimes were great as you can see in another of my posts.
