It was slow today, so I detected a few places after my morning errands.
Started at a school near my parents. No kids, as its an administrative center. But it was close to where I had to drive.
Found about 30 cents. Muddy, cold and windy. Above freezing, but the wind was high, and made things uncomfortable.
Hit a playground on the way home, and found about $1 in the wood chips. Easy to find, but the chips were frozen just beneath the surface. Best and easiest pickings of the day.
Walked down the street to a local "park". Its called a park, but its pretty much just a small, empty strip of land next to a stream. Rarely used, but likely was long ago. Found 6 new pennies. Ground there was much dryer and softer, but trashy too. Weather was really getting bitter by then, so walked home at dusk.
Cant wait for my new Excal to arrive, but weather will only get worse the next couple months, so this may be it for me this year.
Oh well.

hey,

At least you got out for a little fresh (albeit cold!) air. I did too, and picked up #1.37, so you outdid me today by 4 cents!

Good luck next time---I'll try to beat you!!!
