Re: '07 Was Good 2 Pat!

Those results are crazy. Even if I did it full time I could not get those results where I live.

Re: '07 Was Good 2 Pat!

Holy Moly-
Congratulations!
Looking at those numbers, the only competition you got was from LJ & Old Red, not me.

Here's to a Great '08!

Re: '07 Was Good 2 Pat!

Now that is some seriously intensive CRH that deserves a good Pat on da back. Wow I'm hilarious. I got plenty of NicaDate to go around if ya want to use some.

Re: '07 Was Good 2 Pat!

WOW that sounds really awesome. Memphis is a whole lot closer to me than Lousianna!!!

Thanks
Cat

Hey, Buddy Pat how ya doin? Haven't heard from you in a while. Did you get out a bit early for good behavior? ;) Just kidding, I am impressed with your half totals.

Cat, actually he lives in Atlanta. Probably another hour and a half drive. But well worth the trip. :) You seem to have sources for coins all over the country. (how did you get coin from Alaska?) Just give one of your friends a call, but tell them to watch out for that dreaded blue marker. >:(

Re: '07 Was Good 2 Pat!

Congrats Pat! Nice totals, and I also appreciate the fact that you spend the time to find the error coins as well. I always like to see someone who enjoys the hobby enough to burn them eyes out looking for errors, as opposed to just pluckin silver and posting a picture of the check!!Heh Heh.. Anyhow, good luck in 08. I noticed some of those "Red neck Kennedys" in your picture of marked halves. Speaking of marked halves, you better be carefull because there is some nut here that goes ballistic at the site of a marked half. Keep your filthy self out of my neck of the woods! HH and good luck, Gpurs...

Re: '07 Was Good 2 Pat!

It's always fun to pick with Patrick, but we generally try to restrain from repeatedly calling people names. If you don't like what he has to say, simply select "ignore user". By the way, I guess that means I am a "nut" also.

Happy Hunting!

Enamel, I like Pat. Quite a character, and a Master Crher. As far as "nut" goes, I was referring to a different "nut", not you. HH, Gpurs...

Re: '07 Was Good 2 Pat!

I know who you were referring to. I'm just saying if he is a nut for not wanting good coins marked, then I'm one also. He is correct about the marking. Just because you see one of your marked coins doesn't mean the whole box is bad (unless they are handrolled). In that case you will probably get the same tracking result by marking the wrappers. But that's okay, everyone has a right to their own opinion.

Happy Hunting!

Enamel, I would never call someone a nut for not wanting good coins marked. However, someone may indeed be a nut if they spend months and months going on diatribes, spreading vitriol, calling names (some of them quite ugly), and in general berating anyone who marks a coin. This same person, and possibly yourself, just melted THOUSANDS of "good coins". Now I ask you, which does more harm, a sharpie mark (which easily cleans off) or a smelter. In my opinion, the smelter tends to disfigure the coins more than the sharpie. Melting is sorta, kinda permanent damage to the coin. As far as the reasons for marking the coins, I do not know anyone that marks them for "tracking purposes". Most people that mark coins are people that are doing more than just "ganking" silver to rush off to the smelter. They are actually putting a loupe to the coins checking for errors. After you have inspected thousands of coins for errors, it seems quite reasonable to mark the coin and save looking at the same coins many times again in the future. I was not referring to you in any negative manner nor will I, as I have seen your posts on this board for some time. I wish you the best of luck in 2008, and hope to see you post a barber or two in the near future! HH Gpurs..
