Had to get out and decompress a little today after a bit of a stressful afternoon. Eventually I started finding some wheaties and that was helping my mood a bit. Toward the end of the hunt I pulled a wheatie and a rosie in an area my dad had been searching already. The wheatie was a signal you couldn't miss, so it pays to overlap well. The rosie was a super one way signal only 4 inches down... and it was an inch away from a roofing nail in the hole. Just luck that I came around the tree at just the right angle to hit it. The old well traveled ground that doesn't receive much shade was as hard as frozen ground in the winter... it was really pissing me off. Everything was going fine until we witnessed a nice looking house cat get run over right in front of us as we were walking back to our cars. Poor cat. We felt terrible about it... still do.
