Today we had a work "golf/beer" event where the whole departmart got the afternoon off to go golfing. The golf course was near a small town I had stopped at about 4 months ago on a weekend road trip, but hadn't been back to since. The golf event got done at around 4:30 so I hopped in the car and checked out the local banks. I was especially curious about one bank as it is closed on weekends so I hadn't stop there previously.

At the branch I was most curious about, I ended up picking up a $500 bag of halves of the coin machine that they had in the vault as well as a $500 bag of dimes, also off their coin machine.

At the other stops combined, I ended up with 10 rolls of fed rolled halves and $3 in loose halves.

The fed rolls were a skunk.

The $500 bag of halves produced:
2 - 90% Kennedy (1964-D(2))
14 - 40% Kennedy (1965, 1966(3), 1967(7), 1968-D(3))
1 Post-2001 Kennedy (2006-P)

The bag also had 3 quarters and 16 pennies which made me concerned about being short... but I counted it and I was only 4 halves short. So after adding the quarters and pennies back in I only paid $1.09 over face for 16 silver halves... I'll take that all day long.

The $500 bag of dimes also produced pretty well with
4 pre-1965 Roosevelt (1946, 1946-D, 1960-D, 1964-D)
7 Canadian (1973, 1975, 1977, 1979, 1984, 1989, 2000)
2 Foreign (Sweden, 5 Ore (1972), Sweden, 10 Ore (1964))
1 penny

And my first proof dime a 1969-S Roosevelt. I did find the 1996-W dime last year, but that's not a proof coin. I was starting to wonder if I would ever find a proof dime. Now I just need a quarter and dollar coin and I will have found at least one proof of each denomination.

Wow, a proof dime, you're one up on me GMan, WTG! I haven't searched dimes much and still haven't found one. Have you assembled any partial proof "sets" from circulation? I'm getting close on a couple:

**3 coins**

- 1973-S (nickel, quarter, half)

- 1990-S (penny, nickel, half)

**2 coins**

- 1962 (penny, nickel)

- 1968-S, 1972-S, 1974-S (nickel, half)

- 1978-S (penny, half)

- 1979-S, 1980-S, 1981-S, 1985-S, 1988-S, 1994-S (nickel, half)

- 2000-S (penny, half)

I have the following proof coins

Pennies: 1987-S

Nickels: 1971-S, 1972-S, 1973-S, 1977-S, 1980-S, 1993-S, 2004-S Keelboat, 2005-S Buffalo, and I believe a 1968-S

Dimes: 1969-S

Quarters:

Halves: 1972-S, 1973-S(2), 1976-S, 1977-S, 1981-S, 1983-S, 1984-S, 1988-S, 1999-S(2), 2001-S

Dollars:

So the only partials above 1 coin are 1972 and 1973 both with 2 coins.

I also think I have a few more proofs that are earlier dates, but not positive as the coins were also issued for circulation so its harder to tell.

Way to go gman..............and immy as well. I hadn't ever thought of my crh finds in terms of assembling proof sets.

Given my preferred hunting habits, I shouldn't be surprised my found proofs are primarily halves (71-86, 86 comm, 89-93, 05-06 (all CuNi) and 76 & 04 (silver) ).

While doing a nickel box in January, I did pull two 05 proofs (from the same roll); but don't recall which 05 design it was.

So, I guess my assembled proof sets are a single coin each, except 05; where I have the a nickel and half.

Once on the last day of school i found a 1968-S quarter in my dads change holder in his van. It looked like it was taken out of the proof set in 1968. It is worn and there is no mirror look to it anymore, at least i got a free proof.

Found an 88 proof this weekend, so have to add it to the list.
