03' Springffield ammo cache

found a cache of 03' Springfield rounds last fall at a military training site that was used from 1890's-ww1.

It's easier to hide it than shoot it and clean your weapon. When I was in we would just give it to the newbies that were excited about just shooting.

I don't think you found a cache, I think you found a trash dump. commanders and supply personal don't like to do the paperwork and accountability for unused ammo. I buried entire M-60 belts when filling in my foxholes at Ft. Benning. I also dug up a lot of WW2 ammo when digging holes too.
