This is a WWI Croix de Guerre I found on 10/25/23. These medals were issued by the French government starting in 1915 for acts of heroism during combat. They were commonly issued to foriegn soldiers allied to France.
I was trying to determine to what time period this saddle shield belonged. I am thinking maybe World War I, but HOPING Civil War instead! If you could help me any with this one, I certainly would appreciate it! Thanks.
Found on a vacant home site. I have previously found WWI items from this site. Thinking the cap is foreign and from a cream or medical tube. What is your guy's thoughts?

I inherited this helmet from my great uncle and so far have found nothing but an eBay posting of a similar helmet claiming it to be a "RARE Camo 82nd Infantry WWI US Army 1917 Brodie Helmet Verdun Argonne Vet WW1." I would like to know more about it and possibly what its worth.
